Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead the area and work in conjunction with support areas (such as Lean, Quality, Planning, EHS, and HR) to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and achieve objectives about EHS, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Productivity.
  • Act as a leader of people for the production area’s cell commanders.
  • Responsible for overseeing daily capacity planning in the business area and coordinating with the Planning team to ensure the area capacity plan is monitored and modified as required.
  • Implement cutting-edge techniques and technologies to enhance the predictability of products and processes and to meet quality standards.
  • Champion Lean Six Sigma processes in the region and advocate for the Lean Vision and continuous improvement, which are in line with the objectives of the value stream. Assist Action Workouts and implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies to optimize operations and output.
  • In charge of monitoring production objectives, including TAT, labor hours, and productivity, and generating metrics to correspond with them.
  • Select, appoint, train, develop, and provide ongoing leadership and direction to assigned staff (including cell leaders and hourly workers) in conjunction with the business leader, all while fostering employee engagement.
  • Supervised and assisted with the quality approval process in alignment with one’s designated area of accountability.
  • Advocate for enhanced labor flexibility across the region.
  • Adhere to a code of conduct and integrity, and instill in each team the GE Beliefs.
  • Communicate with key stakeholders and other organizations to ensure that production requirements are met.
  • Ensure that staff are informed of critical business or consumer issues, and promote a reciprocal exchange of information.
  • Assist the Business Leader in the formulation and organization of labor, equipment, and other resources in a strategic manner to meet the requirements of the business.
  • Assume the role of the Cell Leader when the Business Leader is absent.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or college, or relevant professional experience and knowledge in the field of industrial operations.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a leadership position within the manufacturing industry, with knowledge of Lean problem-solving tools, productivity tools, and process improvement tools.
  • Proficient in instructing and supervising high-performing teams, fostering team participation and individual growth.
  • Outstanding coaching, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • Capacity to manage duress
  • Capacity to contest the status quo.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Expertise in the various disciplines of manufacturing management, including inventory control, production, and standard cost systems.
