Age Requirements for PMA Long Course:

• Intermediate or comparable (Age: 17-22 Years – Relaxation Period of Three Months).

• Height must be 5′-4″ (162.5 cm) and weight must be according to body mass index.
• Candidates with a minimum of 55% in Intermediate (FA/FSC) or equivalent Graduates can apply with 60% or above, with 50% FA/FSc.
• Serving Army Soldiers who have passed FA/FSC or equivalent with 50% marks are also eligible to apply.

Hope Certificate:

If a student has passed Part I of the Intermediate Examination with at least 60% and intends to pursue Part II/Final Examination, the institution’s head can award a Hope Certificate.

Verification of Marks Sheet/ Certificate:

Candidates who do not have certificates or who have duplicate/revised mark sheets/certificates from matriculation, intermediate, or BA/BSc studies must get a Verification Certificate from the Secretary/Controller Examination of the relevant board/university.

Candidates with 60% aggregate marks who apply in Pakistan are admitted without the need for an equivalency certificate. Candidates with less than three Cs in A level or comparable examinations taken in Pakistan or abroad must produce an equivalence certificate provided by the Inter Board of Chairman Committee (IBC).

You must go through the following selection method to join the Pakistan Army number PMA 153 long course:

Registration Process

• Registration consists of two phases. Register online or in an Army Selection and Recruitment Centre (AS&RC) near you.
• After completing the registration process, they will notify you of the next admission exam schedule, which will be held at your chosen ASRC.

Initial Test

• The initial test consists of three sections: verbal, nonverbal, and general knowledge. After passing the test, you will be required to undergo a physical examination.

All events must be completed by each candidate. You will be called for a Medical Test after passing all Physical Tests.

Initial Medical

• Candidates will be subjected to initial medical examinations. If your tests are successful, you will be given an ISSB Form.

Inter-Services Selection Board (ISSB)

• Selected candidates will be subjected to a 5-day ISSB test in which they will be assessed mentally and physically.

Final Medical

• This is the penultimate stage of selecting applicants for final medical examinations.

Interview

For candidates who pass the written, medical, and physical tests, the last interview will be performed by S&ROs (rather than a Brig by the formation) and a Psychologist. Before the interview, each candidate must produce a 10-line essay in English and Urdu.

For English and Urdu essays, candidates will be given plain paper prior to the interview. The Topic of the Day will be displayed on a board in the test hall/room. S&RO will provide feedback to every candidate who appears in an interview. A candidate cannot receive an Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) form if he or she receives less than 12 points.

Each candidate will be graded on a scale of 20. For the conduct of interviews, the following guidelines are provided:

• Expression and confidence.
• A thorough awareness of current events is required.
• Excellent knowledge of geography and Pakistan studies.
• Overall picture.
• Extracurricular activities that are active, such as hobbies and sports.
• Other matters deemed pertinent by the Panel.
• Ensure that all AS&RCs use CCTV to record every candidate’s interview and share such records on weekly CDs with PA DTE.

The candidate will be chosen based on his or her performance and merit at the General Headquarters (GHQ). After 5 days, candidates will be notified by email of their selection.

Additional Information:

Preliminary Selection is not necessary for an international candidate. Attaches from the Defense Department will assess the candidates’ overall suitability as well as stammering and physical deformities. For an application form, candidates need to contact the Pakistani Embassies (Military/Defence Attaches) in their country of residency.

Applicants must submit their applications, along with the relevant documentation, to Pakistani embassies. Applications must also include a Pakistani postal address so that call-up notices and correspondence for ISSB tests/interviews can be forwarded to the candidates’ Pakistani addresses. There is no possibility of receiving a travel allowance for travel to or from Pakistan.

Required Documents:

• Certificates and mark sheets from Matric/FA/FSc/Equivalent.
• If the candidate is over the age of 18, he or she can apply for a computerized national identity card. If the applicant is under the age of 18, he or she must submit a computerized Form B along with a parent or guardian’s computerized ID card.
• One set of authenticated copies of the above-mentioned documents.
• 3 passport-sized color photographs (front and back) attested by the Principal/Class-1 Gazetted Officer.
• “Repeater Candidates” must also provide one original and one photocopy of letters stating “NOT RECOMMENDED” from Inter Services Selection Boards (ISSBs).

Ineligibility Conditions:

• The Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) rejected me twice.
• If you fail the initial test (Int/Academic), you will be disqualified for future PMA L/C.
• The Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB) screened me out twice.
• If the competent authority grants a dispensation, the test must be taken within four months (120 days) following the candidate’s prior appearance before the Inter Service Selection Board (ISSB).
• A person who has been dismissed, removed, or prohibited from serving in the government or armed forces.
• Any serious crime (as assessed by the appropriate military authorities) convicted in a court of law.
• The patient has been permanently ruled UNFIT by the Appeal Medical Board (PUF by the AMB). Except for those who have been cleared by the Appeal Medical Board, he has been ruled unfit by any Armed Forces Hospital. If they are medically unfit to fly, Pakistan Air Force candidates can go through the same routine medical exams as regular candidates if they want to join another branch of the armed forces.
• Medically unfit due to Hepatitis B and C (unable to request an AMB).
• Discharged from any bonded Armed Forces institution or college.
• Any withdrawal, dismissal, resignation, or purchase of a commission from an armed forces academy or training institution.
• Any applicant who falsifies, forges, or conceals academic certificates to obtain an unfair advantage will be permanently disqualified for any type of commission in the Armed Forces.
• An applicant who tests positive for drugs at CMHs, Military Hospitals, or AFIP is permanently barred from joining PMAs or Training Institutions.

Pakistani Nationals Residing Abroad:

• Candidates who reside outside of the United States are not required to participate in the Preliminary Selection process. Defense Attaches, on the other hand, will certify their general fitness, physical abnormalities, and stammering disorders. For applications, candidates should contact Pakistani embassies (Military/Defense Attaches) in their country of residency.
• The Application Forms and supporting materials must be sent to Pakistani embassies. A postal order for Rs. 100/- and a bank draft for Rs. 500/- in the name of the Director-General Personnel Administration at General Headquarters Rawalpindi should be attached to an application form.
• Applications should also include candidates’ Pakistani addresses so that Inter-Service Selection Board (ISSB) examinations/interviews and any subsequent correspondence can be issued to those individuals. There will be no travel allowance to or from Pakistan.
• keep in mind that if the number of selected candidates exceeds the number of inductions necessary, the leftover candidates will be considered for the next Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Long Course admission, assuming all prerequisites are met.
