Main Duties, tasks, and abilities:

  • As established by the NMC Code of Professional Standards of Practice and Behaviour and other pertinent professional guidelines, the incumbent shall bear professional liability for the preservation of standards and professional conduct.
  • Responsible for overseeing a designated area of the practice setting or a group of patients, they will be in charge of overseeing the coordination and direct provision of patient-centered, holistic care. This will be accomplished through the evaluation of health education and nursing care requirements, as well as the development, implementation, and assessment of individualized care programs.
  • To be appointed as a deputy to the individual who remains responsible for the organization and management of the practice setting.
  • Provide leadership in the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse’s absence, in addition to demonstrating and encouraging the development of appropriate ward/department management skills and experience.
