  1. What is a PMDC eligibility certificate?

    PMDC Criteria Qualification: MBBS or equivalent medical qualifications recognized or registered by PM&DC. Post qualification: Obtain a PM&DC level III qualification in the relevant subject, such as FCPS, M.S., or MD, or another equivalent level III qualification in the specialty, approved by SRC and recognized or registered by PM&DC.

  2. What are the duties of the PMDC? 

    The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council is a statutory regulatory body that maintains Pakistan’s official medical practitioner register. Its chief function is to establish uniform minimum standards for basic and higher qualifications in medicine and dentistry throughout Pakistan.

  3. Is it PMDC or PMC now?

    Parliament later passed a bill to repeal the PMC and restore the PMDC. However, President Alvi sent the bill for reconsideration. In December 2022, the parliament again passed the bill in a joint sitting. In January 2023, President Alvi approved the PMDC Bill 2022, making it an act of parliament.
