About the role:

In addition to reporting to the Head of CCIP, you will be tasked with overseeing the development and implementation of activities and programs supported by the International Science Partnerships Fund (ISPF). Additionally, you will be expected to make contributions towards achieving other goals within the CCIP team and the organization at large.

This will require collaboration across STFC laboratories and facilities, UKRI, our research community in the United Kingdom, and other external and international stakeholders to deliver effective, impactful projects and define priority areas for collaboration. There may be instances where travel and overnight stays are mandatory for the position.

The following are the primary tasks of the role:

  • Developing and executing funding requests and activities, including capacity-building initiatives, in ISPF-funded programs in collaboration with UK and international partners.
  • To optimize the impact of STFC investments, it is imperative to foster partnerships among research funders, users (including industry, government, and policymakers), and the academic community both domestically and internationally.
  • Organizing and executing grant call cycles, review procedures, and grants by the budget framework, while ensuring that an extensive range of mechanisms encompassing every phase of community and project development are readily available.
  • collaborating closely with the Strategy, Planning, and Communications Directorate’s STFC International team to ensure the incorporation of pertinent ISPF processes, procedures, and reporting and a coordinated approach to ISPF programming.
  • assuming the role of the principal liaison between the STFC and finance initiatives, including serving on project management boards.
