Qualifications and Eligibility requirements for the position:

  • Ph.D./M.Phil or Master’s Degree in Climate Change/Environmental Sciences/Renewable Energy/Natural Resource Management/Environmental Economics & Policy/Climate Finance or any other relevant discipline from a recognized national or international university of high ranking. Preference will be given to candidates who have published highly cited research in high-impact journals on a national or international scale.
  • A minimum of seven years of professional experience is required for candidates with a Ph.D., and nine years of experience is required for candidates with a Master’s Degree in the relevant field, including three years of senior management-level positions. The experience should be specifically focused on policy formulation, strategic planning, and the conception and implementation of development initiatives with a specific focus on climate change. Project management, climate finance, environmental law, sustainable development initiatives, and IT qualifications will be regarded as an additional advantage.
  • A thorough comprehension of the climate change scenarios at the national and international levels.
  • She exhibited practical working experience and a comprehensive understanding of the formulation of multidisciplinary policies and strategies, national planning in environmental management, the mainstreaming of climate change mitigation and adaptation initiatives, the enhancement of livelihoods, the conservation of biodiversity, and the management of natural resources in developing countries.
  • Original research publication(s) in high-impact national/international journals have demonstrated the ability to make a specific contribution that is impact-oriented.
  • The ability to establish connections between sustainable development objectives (SDGs), macroeconomic policies, poverty reduction, energy, and the environment.
  • Comprehensive conceptual and practical understanding of the strategic principles and operations of UN Agencies and international donors.
  • Experience in collaborating and working with a variety of stakeholders, such as governments, international donors, NGOs, and civil society.
  • Proven capacity to generate technical and analytical reports and analyze data.
  • Experience in the drafting of a variety of climate change-related legal documents and legislation.
